Food52 Test Kitchen, Chef Josh Cohen, spent the evening showing us how to add our own culinary touches to Amy’s prepared foods. If you aren’t familiar with Amy’s, they make convenience and frozen meals that only have organic and non-GMO ingredients and they also have gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. Chef Cohen dressed up their Indian Samosa Wraps with chimichurri sauce and mango salsa, they turned Meatless Veggie Meatballs into lettuce wraps, and Vegan Chili into loaded sweet potato fries.
We also talked with Paul Schiefer from Amy’s about the importance of supporting the farmers who grow their food and the workers who prepare and package it. We also discussed some of the other ways Amy’s is bringing healthy, organic food to the masses. Their new Drive Thru brings vegetarian and vegan organic food to a fast and convenient setting, all at a price that rivals others in the fast food market. They’ve also expanded to new markets, like India, where their top selling product is Amy’s Swirls.
